Would microsoft give me a product key if i could prove i owned the software?

I ALREADY OWN MICROSOFT OFFICE LEGITIMATELY.

i am not asking for a cracked anything.

however, i was not the first person to open this cd a while ago (my little sister was, who doesn't know anything) and, as such, the product key is apparently lost. if i were to call microsoft, i suppose there is no way they would give me the product key?

ALTERNATELY:

i had microsoft office professional installed, but i had to reformat my comp. i have the old product key, but the version im installing now is microsoft office student/teacher edition, so the key doesnt match up. is there any place i can get a trial version of microsoft professional and then use my old key to validate it or something?

Would microsoft give me a product key if i could prove i owned the software?triumph

you could try calling microsoft .. the only other way is to go to a serial site or pirate the whole thing ...

you could try calling them, however, they dont give out cd-keys over the phone, they're very stingey even if they know you have a legit copy.
yes u could go to http://us1.trymicrosoftoffice.com/produc...

and download the free trial then enter your product key. or you could call microsoft and they will ask you for the part # of the cd. It's located on the Microsoft Office cd. then if it matches they will give you product key. that worked for me
You should have the update key on the back of the cd case or the book that came with it. Did you register the copy? if so then microsoft should be able to help you, if not then you may be out of luck.
call microsoft if you have the student copy there is a part number on the cd, they will need to give you a new Product Key.
You do not own the software. You are licensed to use the software. The product key should be on the CD sleeve or instruction book cover. Little sister did a good job, didn't she? Since the software has a unique product key, Microsoft can't tell what it is from where they are. You can ask them and I wish you luck.
actually they would give you the product key if you can prove to them that u purchase the software. what u will need to do it call the microsoft hotline ( can be googled ) and talk to microsoft and show (by having the box or recipect ) that you purchased the software .
